Jared Slodowick

Jared Slodowick, LPC

Jared is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over fifteen years of clinical experience working with a diverse population including over a decade of working with children and adolescents. He received his Masters degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has been a Pittsburgh native his entire life.

Jared tends to utilize skills developed through use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and aims to collaborate with his patients on identifying realistic strategies and useful skills to better manage life’s challenges. He works with children, teens, and adults. Jared is comfortable supporting patients through a variety of needs such as anxiety, depression, anger management, relationship or social issues, grief and loss, technology addiction, and autism related needs. Jared likes to create strategies unique to each patient and enjoys collaborating with patients on using their interests and strengths to provide opportunities to learn and practice new skills to enhance a person’s feelings of self worth and accomplishment.

Jared strives to create a calm and welcoming space for the therapeutic work to occur. Patience, acceptance, and even moments of humor are elements that he uses to guide his patients towards their personal goals. In addition Jared aims to empower his patients to have an active voice in therapy and welcomes feedback and collaboration. He recognizes the path to betterment is daunting and desires for patients to always feel heard and understood so that they do not feel alone on that journey.
