Sara Carlson

Sara Carlson, LSW (She/Her)

Sara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Chatham University and her Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She brings to her work a rich and varied background— including case management, inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and private practice. These experiences have shaped her into a compassionate, grounded clinician who meets clients with empathy, respect, and genuine curiosity about their stories.

Sara believes that it is an honor to be trusted with someone’s story. She values the courage it takes to show up—especially during life’s most challenging moments—and aims to create a space where clients feel supported, respected, and genuinely heard.

She works with adults 18 and older, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities, including CBT, DBT, CPT, ACT, feminist therapies, Gestalt therapy, and relational therapy. Sara tailors her approach to each individual, helping clients explore their experiences with compassion while building meaningful, sustainable change.

In her free time, Sara is an avid reader and scrapbooker. She shares her home with two cats—Dorian Gray and Gatsby—named after classic literary characters. She also loves to cook and experiment in the kitchen.
